Job description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Coordinates and manages activities to support cost, quality, and factory goals on daily production and new product launches. Provides support for supplier development and strategies as it pertains to engineering regional and global directives. Responsible for project assignments that could range in complexity from component level application to complete system development.  Manages time to effectively accomplish goals and objectives on time and within budgetary constraints.  Works with all departments, vendors and customers within the scope of the project.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Provide engineering expertise as related to quality, cost and factory support.
·  Analyze test data and correlate to product design improvements.
·  Complete activities necessary to achieve company Quality and Cost Goals.
·  Create and maintain an accurate historical log of projects completed and in process.
·  Complete SCR and cost reduction projects.
·  Provide updates to management and project teams as required.
·  Assist in the establishment of development requirements for product changes and help execute them to meet objectives.
·  Conduct design reviews with diligence and accuracy.
·  Ability to write and interpret project schedules.
·  Operate productively in a cross functional and diverse workplace utilizing the global experience within the corporation while driving for change and improvement.
·  Execute other assignments as deemed strategically required by top management.

Desired profile

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required
·  Minimum of 1 to 3 years of Engineering experience required
·  Plastics/Sheet Metal design development experience preferred
·  Leadership skills to drive actions forward to accomplish targets
·  Must have general knowledge of manufacturing and assembly methodologies, with R&D and Quality a plus.
·  Experience in the purchasing process, cost models, RFQ’s and sourcing boards preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED

·  Advanced engineering degree would be a significant plus. 
·  Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills are a must. 
·  Exceptional problem solving skills with the ability to work in a team environment
·  Mature thinking, professional presentation, detailed orientated, with common sense and good judgment
·  Lean/6 Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt. ASQ experience is a plus
·  Experience with supplier workshops, tear downs , and “walking” manufacturing lines
·  Financial analysis, total cost, business case experience is preferred
·  PPAP’s approval, ECN’s generation and approval experience
·  Microsoft Office skills – Word, Excel, Power Point, Project
·  Strong Continuous Improvement mindset
·  Knowledge of CAD, CAE, risk assessment, FEA, PFMEA, DFMEA, DFM, Gantt charts, and other applicable development tools.
·  Ability to drive projects to completion in a systematic, focused engineering effort to develop marketable products.
·  Demonstrated results for customer obsession, drive for results and innovation
·  Ability to effectively prioritize projects based on both industry and quantitative measures, and understands how they will affect the group's bottom line profitability.
