Manufacturing Engineer (Anderson, SC Plant)

Job description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Plans and designs develops, automates, justifies and procures both manufacturing processes and equipment. Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Determines parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Process and equipment development in the areas of product assembly including steel and stainless steel metal forming, HIPS plastic extrusion/ thermoforming, urethane foaming, metal tube forming.
·  Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
·  Cost justification and accountability. Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements
·  Process and equipment specification, Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
·  Process and equipment, procurement and implementation. Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
·  Train and assist equipment operators, maintenance technicians in areas of responsibility
·  Troubleshoot and analyze process and equipment performance for improved quality and uptime
·  Automate existing manufacturing equipment

Desired profile

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

BS degree in Mechanical Engineering required and 2-5 years of experience. PLC experience required; Mechanical systems experience including packaging, conveying & product handling required; Hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical experience required; AUTOCAD experience required; Appliance or similar product assembly experience.
