POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Innovation Engineer – Sustainability

Objectives
As part of the Global Connectivity & Technology - Advanced Technologies team in St. Petersburg, the Innovation Engineer – Sustainability will support projects aimed at developing and promoting innovative technologies and processes for a more sustainable use of materials and resources in Electrolux products globally by means of life cycle analysis (LCA). 

This function is asked to prove the feasibility of the new solutions by deep evaluation of all the environmental implications in a life cycle perspective, with studies performed on the basis of internationally recognized LCA tools and databases.

In this role you will interface with GC&T Sustainability team in Porcia.

As an integral member of the Global Connectivity & Technology organization (GC&T), the successful candidate will provide technical expertise in environmental science, processes and technologies in an international, multi-competence and cross-product line environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assess  the environmental impacts of materials, processes and technologies based on life-cycle approach by means of internationally recognized LCA tools and databases (e.g. SimaPro, ecoinvent). 
• Collect all relevant data from both literature and Company information (e.g. databases, primary and secondary data, surveys).
• Perform life cycle inventory analysis. 
• Perform environmental risk assessment.
• Prepare presentations and technical reports.
• Provide regular status communication to cross functional and executive teams.
• Work in matrix with other GC&T functions. In particular she/he will work in close cooperation with Sustainability and Advanced Materials teams based in Porcia, Italy.
• Other duties as needed.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Environmental, Chemical or Materials Engineering, Environmental Science or similar field of study.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.
• PhD is a plus.
• Proficient with LCA analysis tools (e.g. SimaPro) and life cycle inventory databases (e.g. ecoinvent).
• 1-3 years track record/hands-on experience in at least one of the following fields: LCA analysis, environmental risk assessment of products and chemicals, recycling, waste and wastewater management. A good network of contacts in these areas is valuable.
• Solid knowledge of data analysis and statistics.
• Good knowledge of waste and wastewater treatment technologies
• Understanding of materials processes and technologies
• Understanding of product development processes and appliance industry.
• Familiar with international environmental standards & norms (e.g. ISO 14040, ISO 14044, ISO 14046, ISO 14067).
