Job description
ENGIE are recruiting for a Tax Accountant to be based in Q3, Quorum Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE12 8EX. This is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
The Tax Accountant will ensure all corporate tax compliance matters (any reference to corporate taxes are to those of “relevant entities” define as entities when the tax accounting is carried out in the Newcastle Shared Service Centre) are dealt with in timely fashion and all returns are filed on time.
Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:
· To ensure all corporate tax returns are filed on time
· To ensure relevant claims and group relief claims submitted to HMRC
· Responsible for providing tax calculations for inclusion in the statutory financial statements
· Prepare all corporate tax returns on Alpha Tax ready for review by the Tax Manager/Head of Tax
· Submission of all CT returns to HMRC
· Responsible for all tax accounting for the group of companies
· Assist the Tax Manager/Head of Tax of adhoc projects or whenever the need arises
· Ensuring all CT returns submitted on time
· Ensure all tax workings are included in statutory financial statements
· Preparation and review of the corporation tax returns
· Review of statutory accounts and tax disclosures and assisting in the preparation of the UK GAAP, FRS102, IFRS year- end current and deferrred tax provision
· Assist with the preparation of the statutory accounts and reporting of the UK holding company
· Group reporting of tax accounts in IFRS
· Assisting the Tax Manager/Head of Tax in dealing with enquiries from HMRC and external auditors (with assistance from Tax Advisors)
· Ensuring tax strategy is optimised, in line with transfer pricing/thin capitalisation regulations
· Providing support and tax advice to the business on a wide variety of tax related issues and identifying new tax opportunities
· Assisting with various tax planning projects

· Graduate Qualified Accountant
· ACA/CTA Qualified
· Very good working knowledge of Alpha Tax
· Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting
· Good communication
· Commercial acumen
· Proven years working experience of Corporate tax in an accounting firm/industry
· Detailed knowledge of corporate tax
· Thorough knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, FRS102
· Previous experience of providing tax calculations for inclusion on statutory financial statements
· Excellent knowledge of Alpha Tax
· Experience in other areas of tax such as VAT, PAYE, CIS would be advantageous For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK. There is no re-location package with this job role.
