Job description
ENGIE are recruiting for a Shift Operator Technician to be based in Dow Corning, South Glamorgan. This is a permanent full time/part role working 40 hours per week (shifts). On offer is a competitive salary plus call out allowance.
General Overview :
Reporting directly to the Site Operations Manager the post holder will work as a member of a small shift team working a 5 cycle shift pattern (Days and Nights), and will be responsible for flexibly operating the CHP plant in line with host site requirements and site procedures, as well as maintaining compliance with statutory health, safety and environmental provisions. The Shift Operations Technician will be involved in working with, and assisting in improving, the site systems and responsibility for areas of site maintenance is also expected.
Impact :
The individual should be able to think logically and respond quickly and confidently to problems with minimum supervision. The site shift operator technician will be a self-motivated, flexible individual, able to work alone, use initiative and be willing to accept responsibility to deliver the companies requirements whilst maintain a good relationship with the customer to meet their demands and KPI's associated with the O&M contract.
Complexity :
· Operating the plant to ensure compliance with appropriate safety and environmental standards, and statutory requirements.
· Carrying out plant-related routine duties to ensure plant performance, availability and reliability is maintained to a high level.
· Application of safe systems of work.
· Plant & control system first line fault diagnosis and reporting.
· Application of operational, maintenance and safety systems and documentation for the plant incorporating relevant company standards, including carrying out the duties of an Authorised Person.
· Planning, organising and supervising certain maintenance activities.
· Assisting Site Engineers on projects and outage preparation
· General maintenance of plant dependent on individual's competence
· Responsibility for producing and maintaining identified site documentation and procedures
· Liaising with internal and external customers
· Maintain professional attitude, an appropriate level of communication and courteous behaviour to all colleagues, host site personnel, contractors, and visitors to the CHP site

Qualifications or Required Experience :
· Operations / Engineering qualification
· Working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements
· Power station / CHP operations and maintenance experience is desirable For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK. There is no re-location package with this job role.
