Job description
ENGIE are recruiting for a Porter/Cleaning Operative to be based in Ravensbourne, 6 Penrose Way, Greenwich Peninsula, London, SE10 0EW.
This is a permanent part time role (working 15 hours per week, 34 weeks per year, 5.00am-8.00am) and on offer will be a salary of £4,794 per annum. This role will report into the Soft Services Manager.
To be successful in this role you must provide the following :
· Minimum of 3 year history of employment (including information which can be verified for any gaps)
· If you do not have 3 years previous employment, a professional reference must be provided (obtained from a Medical Practitioner, Officer of the Armed Forces, Teacher, Lecturer, Lawyer, Bank Manager, Civil Servant etc)
· Proof of identity & eligibility to work in the UK which must include Photographic I.D - Passport or Driving License.
· Passport and all relevant work permits
· or NI Number information / proof and full Birth certificate
· If no legal photographic documentation is owned then a passport photo which has been signed and verified by any of the above professionals will be required. This needs to show their title, signature and contact details.
· 2 proofs of address from within the last 3 months (i.e. council tax bill, bank statement, utilities bills).
· Any required qualifications or driving licence if required for the role.
The main duties and responsibilities are:
· Carry out periodic cleans of toilets and general circulation areas
· Ensure that internal facilities are maintained to a clean and hygienic condition
· Adhere to the cleaning schedule and ensure cleaning tasks are carried out in a safe and timely manner
· Ensure equipment is clean and ready for other cleaning staff to use
· Adhere to all company health and safety requirements and expectations
· Check all toilets are stocked sufficiently
· Ensure the effective use of equipment and materials reporting any issues to a Cleaning Supervisor or Site Manager
· Undertake any other duties and responsibilities that may reasonably be expected by the Site Manager or Cleaning Supervisor
· Advise a Cleaning Supervisor of stock levels and work with them to ensure the correct quantities are available
· Management and control of any cleaning chemicals according to COSHH regulations
· Wear the appropriate uniforms and safety equipment where required
· Provide room set up throughout the day in line with curriculum requirements.
· Collect and distribute incoming post from Reception and distribute throughout the College.
· Receive and receipt goods into store throughout the day.
· Report building fabric faults to the Help Desk e.g. lights, damages, vandalism carry out Handy Man duties as required
· Report faulty or damaged equipment to the Help Desk.
· Observe and comply with the Colleges and the Company's Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
· Complete minor handyman duties once training has been provided
· Carry out agreed logistics activities in accordance with the timescales set out in specification in a courteous and professional manner.
· Keep store area clean and tidy.
· Provide cover for colleague's annual leave and sickness.
· Attend training sessions arranged by management. Training session will be relevant to each role and will include mandatory training e.g. health & safety related topics, refresher courses and development training.

· Previous Logistics and/or Portering experience is desirable
· Ability to communicate at all levels, in writing, face to face and over the telephone
· PC literate; show proven ability to search for information from an electronic database/update Maximo as required.
· Good time management skills
· Proactive and adaptable with a flexible, “can-do” service-focused attitude
· Have the capability to prioritise work schedule requirements
