Job description

ENGIE are recruiting for a part-time Caretaker to be based in the Buchanan Centre, 126 Main Street, Coatbridge, Scotland ML5 3BJ. This is a permanent, part-time role working up to 27.5 hours per week as part of a rotational weekly shift pattern (27 hours week 1 / 27.5 hours week 2). On offer is a salary of £7.50 per hour.

The Caretaker is responsible for carrying out various building maintenance/ management duties on a daily basis. This will include early, late and weekend working. This role reports into the Building Manager.

Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:

·  General building maintenance duties.
·  Escorting of maintenance staff and contractors.
·  General janitorial duties
·  Grounds maintenance duties including snow clearance, gritting and litter picking.
·  Opening and closing/securing of the building including the use of the building security system.
·  Carrying out fire alarm tests.
·  Monitoring fire and access control systems.
·  Prevention and reporting of vandalism.
·  Dealing with mail deliveries, collections and delivery/uplift/sorting of mail, parcels, etc.
·  Monitoring heating and lighting systems; Building Management Systems (BMS) and general energy management duties.
·  Porterage duties including receipt, storage and transportation to designated points of delivery.
·  Operation and management of car parks/car park systems.
·  Ad hoc cleaning duties including replenishment of stock in toilets, emergency cleaning of all spillages, etc.
·  General Health and Safety duties
·  Miscellaneous and liaison duties.

Qualifications / Skills Required:

·  Good understanding of buildings and operations.
·  Good communication skills.
·  Strong team-working skills.
·  Good understanding of Health & Safety.
·  Experience of working in a building or facilities management-related role.
·  A flexible approach to working hours.
·  A technical or trade qualification is preferable.
