Engie are recruiting for a Car Park attendant/Security Officer to be based in Burnley General Hospital BB10 2PQ. This is a permanent full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £15,986 per annum.The role holder will report to SECURITY TEAM LEADERS/ SECURITY MANAGER and will be responsible for assisting the Security Manager in the organisation, development, and maintenance of the Car parking & Security services provided to the clients at Burnley General Hospital.

• Provide a security service provision for all the key stakeholders of Burnley General Hospital as per the FM service specification.
• Security and protection of all Trust staff, visitors and patients.
• Familiarise and adhere to the Assignment Instructions at all times
• Familiarise and adhere to the Local Operating Procedures at all times
• Carry out the appropriate locking and unlocking procedures on buildings.
• Regularly patrol the hospital site as a deterrent against theft or vandalism using the electronic checkpoints and report to the Trust in accordance.
• Check all buildings out of hours to ensure that they are fully secured
• Provide security patient/staff and visitor escorts upon request.
• Respond to any requests for assistance with violent and aggressive situations
• Respond to any Burglar alarm activation on the Burnley General Hospital site
• Instigate Police response and Alarm Engineer to on-site burglar alarms
• Respond to all Fire alarm activation
• Respond to a Major Incident instigation, including the placing of signage, access control, the setting up of the Major Incident Control Centre, the opening of departments and the erection of the Decontamination tent
• Escort Ward Staff for retrieval of patients notes, out of hours.
• Undertake any other duties relating to security which may be requested by the Security Manager
• Management of Lost & Found Property, record and provide a safe custody of all Lost and Found Property.
• To perform daily checks as required to the pay and display machines.
• To undertake basic maintenance and carry out minor repairs on site such as ticket replenishment, clearing coin jams etc.
• To patrol the car parks on the Hospital grounds and report via radio link observations (e.g. vandalism, maintenance requirements, signs and lines. Graffiti, abandoned vehicles, etc.) to the security team supervisor
• To act as a first point of contact for staff and members of the public with general enquires.
• Maintain records as appropriate.
• Collaborate and co-operate with the Trust, partners and colleagues to deliver a customer focussed service,
• To report any Health and Safety issues to the security team supervisor at the earliest opportunity.
• Liaise effectively with all internal and external agencies when required.
• To carry out surveys on the conditions of the car parks and roadways when requested
• To ensure that the issue of Civil Penalty Notices are completed accurately and in accordance with the Trusts Car Parking Policy

• Successfully complete the Physical Intervention training and annual two-day update training. This training is mandatory.
• A full valid SIA licence
• Competent in the use of two-way radio system
• Good verbal communication skills
• Good written communication skills
• Good knowledge of the Hospital environment
• Provide information to Visitors, Patients and staff at Burnley General Hospital
• Competent in the use of the telephone
• Computer literate
• Good knowledge of the geography of Burnley General Hospital
