YOUR FUTURE ENVIRONMENT
We are currently strengthening our international presence and are executing a major design-build project in Kristiansand, Norway: the E18/E39 urban motorway connection between Gartnerløkka and Kolsdalen. This €234 million project aims to improve traffic flow to the city centre and port through the construction of 1.4 km of 2x2-lane motorway, 12 structures, 1.5 km of track realignment, redevelopment of the ferry terminal, and installation of technical systems.
You will join a fast-moving, international team and take the lead on the asphalt works — a critical technical package within the project.
YOUR MAIN TASKS – SECTION ENGINEER – ASPHALT
As Section Engineer – Asphalt M/F, you will be responsible for planning, supervising and coordinating all asphalt works for the E18/E39 road and junction. Reporting to the Roadway Manager, you will be the sole point of contact for asphalt on site.
Your responsibilities include:
· Supervising on-site asphalt activities and subcontractors (quality, schedule, cost)
· Liaising with the design office and internal teams
· Preparing tender documents and participating in contract negotiations
· Developing execution plans, KPIs and monitoring tools
· Reviewing asphalt mix designs and lab results
· Preparing 3-week lookaheads and general works programme
· Drafting and implementing ITPs and Control Plans
· Organising and leading weekly meetings (writing MoMs)
· Coordinating with QSE teams for inspections and compliance
· Reporting progress, quality, safety and environmental indicators
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
· Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
· Minimum 2 years of experience on road construction projects, ideally with asphalt focus
· Strong understanding of asphalt production, laying techniques and Norwegian standards
· Data-oriented mindset, familiarity with reporting and planning tools
· Fluent in English; Norwegian strongly preferred
· Autonomous, quick to adapt, and eager to grow — you will be the only asphalt referent in the team
