The role

Provide commercial support to a Highways business in order to increase the commercial performance of their allocated section of the business against agreed targets.

 

Accountabilities

Analyse and help manage commercial risks for the business stream
Support contract negotiations, ensuring that favourable terms and outcomes are obtained
Develop an understanding of the contract and support commercial and legal analysis
Support the financial control and payment of sub-contractors, and to ensure that submissions for payments are received, evaluated and incorporated into valuations for submission to the customer. Maintain proper control and substantiation of variations
Compile and submit valuations, ensuring that these represent maximum entitlement and ensure that timely payment is received, to the benefit of cash flow
Provide estimates for projects and support financial forecasting
Support supply chain procurement and management
Exercise the skills of measurement and valuation to maximise value and minimise cost within the terms of the contract and sub-contracts applicable to each project

Support the delivery of the business' Sustainability's activities

Desired profile

Personal Qualities and Experience

Relevant degree
Experience in technical or highways projects a plus (not mandatory)
Background in generating budgets / estimates and forecasts
Experience in risk management
Experience managing contracts and interfaces with suppliers



Work Place

Connect Plus South Mimms offices (near Potters Bar to the north of London)
Potential visits to other offices / depots around M25 network (including Dartford and Leatherhead offices)
