CONTEXT
Egis Projects is looking for its Human Resources Advisor (based in Banbury), contributing to the success of two major projects in the UK.
This position reports to the General Manager of the main operating project in the UK and work in close coordination with the Head of HR located in France (functional line).
The HR advisor cares after two projects :
Project 1: the position’s holder, working in team, serves the operational strategy over a scope of approx.100 people involved in Highways’ operation and maintenance sector. The headcount is composed by 70% blue collars. In a context of recent acquisition, the challenge is to manage the change from an HR perspective, keeping motivation high, bringing perspective of skills development and to lead HR operations. The responsibility includes health and safety accountability.
Project 2: the position’s holder supports diverse initiatives with respect to recruitment, HR policies and project management for a scope of 50 people involved in the operation and maintenance of a strategic infrastructure.
MISSION & MAIN ACTIVITIES
The HR advisor is responsible for the performance of the HR infrastructure, delivering HR solutions, ensuring smooth operations and providing value-added advice with the final aim to develop engagement of people. The position’s holder is responsible towards compliance with the Human Resources Management Code, internal rules, all local regulations and Health & Safety rules that apply in the Company.
Therefore, the position’s holder is in a strong business partner relationship with managers and operational leaders. He/She is the leader for continuous improvement of quality of HR’s service and for talent development in cooperation with the Headquarters.
The main missions consist in the following:
1/ Hands-on management of HR operations:
The HR advisor manages, coordinates, animates and monitors all HR activities. He/She is responsible for the workflow of HR operations consisting mainly in recruitment, skills development, training management, mobility, staff relation, application of regulations, remuneration & benefits, payroll and overall administrative tasks that may include time management along with the planification manager.
2/ Design and management of HR policies, procedures and tools to meet operational requirement and to ensure well-being at work and fairness of treatment:
Looking for continuous improvement, he/she develops policies and processes that meet the management’s requirement set in the Performance Management standards. He/She monitors the KPI including on Health & Safety aspects.
3/ Other responsibilities:
Change management: in close partnership with the management team, the HR advisor develops the appropriate HR approach considering the operational stakes within the whole organization of his/her scope.
He/She contributes to the managerial practice’s development, showing the direction, fostering empowerment and leading change.
He/She works in close and efficient cooperation with the HR community of the mother-company located in France.
In terms of reporting, he/she analyses the KPI that are proper to the HR function. He/she reports the status of actions to the different management committees of the Company.
Advising operational managers in their team’s daily HR questions, he/she provides proactively an efficient level of consultancy that can be considered as hands-on but also innovative, serving operational stakes. As an influencer, he/she recommends best practices and he/she also advises people in their development’s path.
He/she develops the sense of belonging to the Company, being an ambassador of the employer’s identity. Therefore, he/she contributes/supports the management in the communication to the Staff. Ensuring working conditions are a breeding ground to skills development and collective performance, he/she is also responsible to fertilize a good social climate.
The HR advisor is required to apply HSE (Heath, Safety & Environment) rules in force at Group level. He/She follows HSE rules and enforces them.
SKILLS REQUIRED
With a first experience as an HR advisor, ideally the candidate has a good practice of HR standard in UK including in labor law, employment conditions and engagement.
Should be able to formalize policies and structured processes and to lead them. In particular on these aspects :
Acquisition and transfer of staff under UK law
Change management
Consistency in management’s practice
Sense of belonging of employees.
Social affairs in the UK context (union, negotiation, etc.)
Ability to observe, to create links between people, to influence and to advise, to organize, to drive and to be self-motivated.
Type of contract : VIE, 12 months contract (possibly extended to 18 months)
