Trainee Project Estimator

Job Title: Project Estimator
Ecodomus is a fast growing SME in the construction sector specialising in the sale and installation of high performance timber and timber composite glazing systems.
This role is a permanent position for a trainee to support the growth of our business and is based in our North London office.
Salary: negotiable dependent upon experience

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

1. INITIAL ENQUIRIES: Answer phone and emails to assist with enquiries from Contractors and Customers.
2. PROCESSING ENQUIRIES: Qualify initial enquiries by review specifications and documents to ensure sufficient information is available to both log and quote the project.
3. COSTING/PRICING: Assist the Management team in preparing and issuing estimates/quotations.
4. ORDER PROCESSING: Assist the management team in converting quotations into secured orders and place orders with suppliers of goods and services.
5. DATA /PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Creating e and hard copy Project Files/Folders and maintain client/product database/records. Create and highlight programmes and lead times to contractor/clients.
6. PROCUREMENT AND LOGISTICS: Liaise with clients and suppliers, including following up enquiries/scheduling installation works from time to time
7. ADMINISTRATION: Assist with Show Room visits, filing, record keeping, monitor and report on project lead generation websites
8. MISCELLANEOUS: Covering other office duties to assist with workloads, including occasional site survey work.

Desired profile

NECESSARY KEY SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES:
1. Excellent English language communication skills, both written and oral.
2. Excellent numeracy skills
3. Ability to manage multiple projects and workload.
4. Ability to work unsupervised and within a team environment.
5. Ability to read and understand construction drawings,
6. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
7. Enthusiastic character with good timekeeping skills
8. Living within easy commuting distance of our offices.

DESIRABLE:
1. Experience of estimating and works order processing.
2. Degree education in construction related subject or equivalent experience in the construction sector.
