Sr. Localization Project Manager

Primary Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the Sr. Localization Program Manager, this position will provide localization project management support to multiple organizations and across multiple languages. The Sr. Localization Project Manager will work closely with Language Specialists, Localization Engineers, Product Management, Content Management, Product Development, Customer Support, QA, internal business partners, and with external vendors.

Job Requirements

Reporting to the Sr. Localization Program Manager, this position will provide localization project management support to multiple organizations and across multiple languages. The Sr. Localization Project Manager will work closely with Language Specialists, Localization Engineers, Product Management, Content Management, Product Development, Customer Support, QA, internal business partners, and with external vendors. The position involves, but is not limited to:

• Concurrent management of multiple localization projects in a fast-paced environment, recognizing and acting on their priorities and interdependencies.

• Monitoring localization request system and acting on in-coming requests

• Planning and execution of projects ranging from small, fast-turnaround to larger, complex projects working with the Localization team and with clients to establish their localization needs

• Representing the localization team at project planning/kickoff meetings; developing detailed project plans

• Communicating status, issues and risks to stakeholders

• Review and improvement of processes, and definition of new processes in order to deliver to business needs

• Providing localization expertise and advice to our internal clients

• Localization vendor management

• Tracking of metrics & schedules, and monitoring the workload of our internal resources and external vendors

• Close collaboration with LQA Leads to ensure proper alignment of LQA with localization schedules and processes

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in localization project management

• Knowledge of project management software tools and techniques
• Demonstrated track record of successfully planning and managing fast-paced and larger-scale project implementations from start to finish across multiple languages

• Strong localization vendor management experience

• Solid experience with formal software development life cycles in a Web environment, and understanding of the most common software development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc.)

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and experience applying these skills to resolve technical issues

• Experience with Translation Management (such as SDL WorldServer) and Content Management systems

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with other departments and varying levels of management

• Ability to function effectively in a fast paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Experience with Machine Translation and/or leading of Language QA initiatives preferred
