Business Systems Analyst T25

eBay is seeking a high performing and motivated Business Systems Analyst (BSA) who is experienced in partnering with developers and business users to define and document systems requirements for production data systems. With strong technical know-how and understanding of business use cases, the BSA will be able to quickly support the development of new data products and analytical solutions that create high business impact for eBay. The BSA will be responsible for the ongoing documentation of new features and capabilities, and will analyze eBay data from the business and technical perspective to determine the most efficient data solutions to meet the business needs. The BSA will partner with business, finance and technical stakeholders to gather and document business needs for data and analytics and support the product development lifecycle (PDLC) at a granular, detailed level.

Job Requirements

The BSA will work with the product manager to identify and manage issues, risks and dependencies, and will support the development of the product roadmap at the detailed product feature level. Additionally, the BSA will work with data modelers to ensure that system designs meet known and likely business requirements, and will ensure that systems deployed to production are working efficiently. The BSA will partner with analytics groups to ensure that the Data team's production systems continually represent the source of truth for a given subject area.

This position requires an individual who is experienced with supporting new system development with requirements and documentation, and enhancing existing systems. The BSA should have skill at technical document authoring, writing and analyzing SQL to validate results, and interfacing with various stakeholders across the organization.

Products managed by the team include multi-petabyte data repositories; tools for exploration and discovery; and data services that enable the next generation of data-driven services at eBay. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge and experience understanding and documenting the design of new data products, write excellent technical documentation, and will be equally comfortable interfacing with business users and technical staff. Previous experience in environments with big data platforms like Teradata and Hadoop is highly desirable.
