UK eBay Marketplaces manages the customer experience for buyers and sellers using the eBay platform. The FP&A team ensures this objective is met while delivering profitable growth for our shareholders. We advise on a range of investments including marketing, buyer protection, shipping and other business costs. We also deliver high quality performance insight to both local and central European stakeholders, continually monitoring and adjusting our investment level to meet our financial targets.

Job Requirements

We are looking for an outstanding Financial Manager to help manage the day to day operations of our investments.

The role will report to Head of UK FP&A.

The Financial Manager will have the following responsibilities:

·  Regular reporting of business metrics; assessment of performance
·  Work with the business to set annual budgets; challenging the business case and helping prioritise investments
·  Play a key role in establishing new UK investment council
·  Commercial business support to ensure the BU managers are investing in line with strategy and meet eBay financial requirements. Link with accounting policy, tax and treasury on new initiatives
·  Manage the month end process to close the books including accruals and forecast submission
·  Preparation of monthly variance analysis (revenue, cost, and metrics)
·  Manage business head count requisitions and forecasting
·  Ad Hoc reporting to assist management

Work closely with the EU controlling team finance teams. Contribute ideas and support process improvements to increase the efficiency of the internal team process across all areas of submission, tracking and reporting.

·  Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
·  3-5 years experience of financial accounting, budgeting and forecasting, likely in a large industrial/commercial organization, CIMA designation (full or part qualified) a plus
·  High internet affinity and enthusiasm for e-Commerce
·  Ability to learn new business models and make sense of complex situations quickly
·  Ability to form strong stakeholder relationships, building rapport and trust while maintaining financial discipline
·  Familiarity with the eBay buying and selling experiences, site and overall business a plus
·  eBay experience is preferable
·  Excellent logical, analytical and conceptual skills
·  Stand-alone operation, and excellent communication and cooperation skills
·  Very good command of spoken and written English
·  Language skills
·  Strong / advanced excel and powerpoint skills. SAP/BW experience a plus
