Job description
The FRMS Safety Officer is responsible to the FRMS Safety Manager, working as part of the FRMS Safety team, within the Operations Risk Group. The FRMS Safety Officer assists in the processing and investigation of fatigue reports from crew, takes part in the administration activities for APEX (The Alertness and Performance Examination research), and undertakes analysis of roster metrics, predictive models, and evaluation of scientific research for incorporation into FRMS risk assessments.
The FRMS Safety Officer is passionate about safety and supports the easyJet model by facilitating the company's business and commercial goals within a risk controlled environment - remaining true to the company pillar that safety is our number one priority.
- Assisting with the investigation of Fatigue Report Forms and providing feedback to crew members. Liaising with departmental functions to provide feedback on issues raised through the investigation where appropriate. Prioritising investigations using a risk matrix and escalating medium/high risk events to the attention of the FRMS Safety Manager.
- Assist with the development of the FACT (Fatigue Awareness Countermeasures Training) and on-going maintenance
- Assist with the development of the FRMS site on Inside (easyJet Intranet) and on-going site maintenance
- Assisting the FRMS Safety Manager with the administration of APEX to include: participant screening and recruitment, participant briefings, creation of workbooks and sleep diaries
- Utilising predictive sleep models and scientific research for inclusion in FRMS risk assessments and monthly FRMS SAG meetings
- Assisting with the development of the FRMS Procedures Manual
- Liaising with FRMS Assurance on FRMS identified risk areas and formulating strategies for process change where appropriate
- Attending the FRMS Safety Action Group including minute taking and administration
To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:
Experience:
- At least one year in an aviation related environment.
- Understanding of the interaction between operational safety and the wider airline business.
- Experience in an operational department or experience performing numerical/statistical analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply knowledge
QualifyingCriteria:
- Good written communication and ICT skills.
- A keen interest in fatigue research and fatigue risk management.
- Proven ability to work on own initiative.
- Ability to influence at all levels of the organisation
