Data Analyst / Consultant, Malton North Yorkshire 16-20k 

Our client is a specialist, independent decision support consultancy and technology company based in London, Stirling and Malton, near York. 

Our client's key market is providing technology to local authorities to support more efficient operation of their waste logistics supply chain, and are the market leaders in the UK in the provision of optimised collection rounds for local authority. 

Position: Data Analyst 
Location: Malton, North Yorkshire (commutable from York, Welburn and surrounding areas) 
Salary: £16-£20K depending on experience and skill 

ABOUT THE ROLE: 
The Data Analyst will be responsible for the gathering of data required to design waste collection services. Working with their customers they will validate the data and ensure it is fit for purpose. 

They will then take that data and import it into their software. Under the supervision of a Senior Consultant they will use the software to design, evaluate and optimise new collection systems advising their customers on the advantages of using different collection options. Once the solutions have been agreed they will be responsible for providing suitable implementation reports and materials again using their systems. 

The role is particularly, but not exclusively, suited to those from a numerate or analytical discipline eg. Mathematics or Geography. Alternatively it may be suitable for those who have direct waste management sector experience. 

Full training in their software will be provided! 

There will be opportunities for travel within the UK and possibly in the USA. 

JOB ROLE: ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: 
a) Educated to degree level. 
b) Very good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel 
c) Ability to spot problems early and resolve them constructively. 
d) Clear verbal and competent written communicator. 
e) Good interpersonal skills. 
f) Willingness to work with new ideas. 
g) Critical of their own work. 
h) Attention to details 
i) A focus on good time keeping and cost management. 
i) Able to travel within the UK when required. 
k) Competent in data management and special analyses
