Why work for E.ON

Location: Site Based at Newhaven, with UK and international travel

E.ON is a global provider of specialised energy solutions. We work hard to make the best deals possible and provide energy solutions for our customers.

Right now, we’re looking for an experienced, knowledgeable HSE advisor to work at our newest and largest offshore wind farm, in Newhaven. Although the wind farm itself will be completed in 2017, we want an HSE advisor to join us this year and set up the systems and processes to ensure the site starts out with safe, environmentally friendly practices.

In this role, it will be up to you to develop and promote an effective HSE culture right across the Rampion Wind Farm’s operational and contract teams. You’ll not only help line managers to meet their HSE responsibilities, but also provide expert HSE guidance to staff right across the site. You’ll also have more strategic responsibilities, including evaluating the site’s legal compliance, meeting HSE Management System requirements and liaising with regulatory authorities.

Another key area of responsibility will be reports and audits. You’ll not only help with the creation of regular HSE audits; you’ll also continuously monitor and report on HSE performance across the site.  An important part of this will be tracking and analysing site incidents. You’ll also collate safety observations, adding them to the site’s database to allow you to review and improve our procedures.

Once you have set up Rampion’s HSE procedures, you’ll work to improve them in a number of ways. By coaching and developing line managers, you’ll drive up standards across the site’s teams. You’ll also enforce these improvements by establishing an ongoing competence and training plan. You’ll drive up performance with a range of other targeted, effective initiatives too.

This is an exciting, unique opportunity for an HSE specialist to have a profound and lasting impact on one of our most important new renewable energy ventures.
