Skillset for TPF Mainframe SAN Administrator:
· In-depth knowledge and experience with the directors and switches (Brocade and CISCO) used for connectivity traffic between mainframe z/TPF CPUs, and between the CPUs and their DASD and Tape I/O subsystems, in all supported z/TPF environments, as well as in-depth knowledge and experience with the z/TPF system architecture of both tightly and loosely coupled systems.
Responsibilities of TPF Mainframe SAN Administrator:
· Install, maintain, and upgrade the software of z/TPF related directors and switches, as well as the various vendor specific tools used to control and administer the z/TPF SAN environment (Brocade Network Advisor, ESRS, etc.).
· Define, create, and administer physical and logical SAN fabrics, specific to z/TPF system needs and requirements.
· Participate in the evaluation of new SAN related hardware solutions, and create recommendations to meet client and departmental requirements.
· Create and execute ITIL based incident, problem, and change tickets utilizing various internal and client specific ticket solutions.
· Create and maintain detailed ITIL driven documentation related to the processes, procedures, and activities specific to the SAN requirements of z/TPF systems operated for multiple clients.
· Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution for incidents involving TPF SAN components, replication circuits, and related network connectivity issues.
· Provide continuous 24x7x365 support of TPF SAN environments.
Qualifications of TPF Mainframe Console Operator:
· 3+ years of experience as a TPF Mainframe SAN Administrator
· Bachelor’s degree in IT related field. Additional years of experience may be substituted for degree.
· Excellent communication skills, ability to multi-task, and work under pressure
· Ability to work occasional nights or weekends, in support of changes/implementations, and ability to provide 24x7 oncall support.
