Work in a team environment performing system DBA tasks supporting Oracle databases on Linux, UNIX & Windows, SQL Server instances on Windows, and Netezza databases.

The job includes working with the various technology teams, vendors, and management of new hardware and operating systems infrastructure supporting databases in standalone and clustered environment.

The individual will be responsible for the installation, configuration and implementation of complex systems for multiple projects.

Specific responsibilities include:

·  Architect, design and implement complex system configurations at an expert level in demanding customer environments.
·  Assess, design, plan, and implement complex infrastructure projects
·  Directly interact with cross-functional teams and solution architects to identify, develop, and obtain complete information for solutions.
·  Plan and execute technical program including developing, validating, and executing project technical processes and procedures. Serve as escalation point for technical project issues.
·  Apply best practices, strategies, methodologies and approaches to large scale projects.
·  Achieve high level of Customer Satisfaction on all consulting engagements. The candidate for this position must focus on results enabling businesses to operate more effectively
·  Manage change requests using ServiceNow.
·  Able to work independently with minimal supervision
·  Able to implement build procedures per standard document
·  Required to work extended hours per DXC standards
·  Required to be available for 24x7 on-call rotation to support escalations from support team

Qualifications

Oracle/SQL Server/Netezza Infrastructure DBA on Linux, UNIX & Windows with experience in Oracle 10g, 11g, 12c and above, and SQL Server 2008, 2012, 2016

At least 8 year hands-on experience providing database administration services in Oracle 10g, 11g, 12c and above on clustered environments such as Oracle Clusterware and Veritas Clusters.

At least 5 years hands-on experience providing database administration services in SQL Server 2008, 2012, 2016 and working with Always On Availability Groups.

At least 3 years hands-on experience providing database administration services in Netezza would be an asset.

Extensive and varied experience in these technical areas:

• Strong systems architectural skills and knowledge in design and build of database systems.

• Develop solutions to meet customer requirements.

• Extensive knowledge to perform software installations, upgrades, migrations and apply patches

• Extensive hands on expertise on Oracle databases (RAC and non-RAC), Oracle Clusterware, Oracle Dataguard and ASM

• Strong skills, hands-on and knowledge in installation, configuration and management of Oracle databases (RAC and non-RAC) and Oracle Dataguard on Linux, UNIX and Windows systems.

• Extensive hands-on experience in installation, configuration and management of Oracle Clusterware on Linux, and UNIX systems.

• Extensive hands-on experience in database migration.

• Hands-on experience and knowledge in Oracle Clusterware and database upgrades (RAC and non-RAC)

• Hands-on experience and knowledge in performing Oracle patching (Clusterware, RAC and non-RAC)

• Hands-on experience and knowledge in setting up and testing RMAN backups (including restores) with 3rd Party Backup solutions like HP Data Protector and Symantec Netbackup.

• Hands-on experience in installing and configuring monitoring tools such as OEM agents and HP Openview DBSPI. Candidate must have hands-on experience and knowledge to configure database, listener, cluster, and ASM targets in OEM.

• Hands-on experience with SQL Server administration (backup, security, installation, performance tuning, etc.)

• In depth working knowledge of Windows 2008, 2012, 2016.

• Experience with SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups setup, configuration, troubleshooting.

• Database migration expertise

• Supporting all types of SQL Server replication

• Experience supporting Netezza (backup, security, troubleshooting, performance, etc.)

• Knowledge of SAN backup tools like Flashcopy

• Good understanding of OS Clustering – such as Veritas and other high-availability/ fault-tolerance technologies.

• Knowledge of virtualization and system consolidation.

• Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, NFS, TCP/IP, LDAP, Windows domains and networking services.

• Good knowledge of Database security issues and ability to design and implement security measures.

• Experience in disaster recovery solutions and testing.

• Performance tuning, performance management, and capacity planning experience.

• Good knowledge and understanding of the ITIL process

Additional Skills

·  Extensive Knowledge of UNIX, shell/Perl Scripting and kernel Parameters.
·  Familiarity with Cloud computing knowledge will be a huge plus.
·  Middle tier - applications servers, web servers, etc.
·  Knowledge of the following is an asset
·  Oracle Exadata (patching, upgrade, and hardware replacement)
·  Oracle Goldengate
·  Oracle Enterprise Manager (specifically managing the OMS and OMR)
·  Chef and/or Ansible
