The Batch Scheduling / Workload Automation Technical Support Engineer is responsible for delivering operational services to outsourcing accounts,covering the team’s portfolio skillset.Primary tasks include working on (monitoring generated) incidents and service requests, planned changes and/or project implementation,planning,coordination and implementation of changes.

Basic operations work with jobs (start, stop, hold, off-hold, etc.) based on instructions (either predefined, or provided by an Application support team)

The main goal is to minimize the amount of unplanned downtime in the customer's production environment and to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction. He/she works in close relationship with other teams and is under direct supervision by the team Management.

He/She is to increase Quality of executions of procedural and standardized tasks.

Responsibilities:

- Monitoring of alerts, customer Incident and customer Requests in the internal workflow tools;

- End to end ticket handling in all workflow toolsaccording to agreed SLAs and internal procedures;

- Common Mailbox management - incoming and outgoing communication;

- Red Phone communication handling;

- Customer and 3rd Party communication handling;

- Troubleshooting and procedural resolution;

- On time escalation when required;

- Planning, testing, coordination and execution of assigned changes (Standard, Normal, Urgent or Emergency);

- Addresses potential improvements in documentation and processes;

- Suggest improvements and automation to lead to productivity and efficiency;

- Ensure professional communication representing the team in front of Customer, 3rd Party and other counterparts;

- Participate in Root Cause Analysis in Problem Management life cycle activities;

- Third party products deployment and upgrades.

Requirements:

Preferably 3+ years’ experience within IT Operations, or infrastructure services support (Microsoft Windows and Linux/UNIX based operating Systems or Network management);

Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience, backed with technical knowledge, of any of the applicable technology platform that you are currently responsible for;

Understanding of current and emerging digital technologies – MS Azure, AWS, Managed and Virtual private cloud solutions, automation tools and development platforms;

Understanding of traditional IT tools and environment – Enterprise IT security, PKI, platform and client administration, network or virtualization technologies;

Hands on experience and/or base certification in administration of Linux/UNIX based OS, Microsoft Windows Server, System administration, Application Deployment and configuration;

Fluent in written and verbal English.

A significant advantage would be:

Working experience with any Workload Automation software product will be considered strong advantage (IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler; Broadcom/CA Automic One Automation (UC4); Redwood Cronacle; ORSYP Dollar Universe; Broadcom/CA Workload Automation (Autosys); BMC Control-M)

o            Ability to schedule and monitor batch objects;

o            Ability to analyse dependencies and troubleshoot daily operations issues;

o            To be able to design and introduce new objects to the system;

o            Understanding of the correlation between a Workload Automation software, applications, databases and the hosting OS.
