The engineer is primarily responsible for proactive software/firmware and patch management activities for Avaya’s global customers. Avaya s products mainly include Communication equipment like Call Centers, PBX, Voice Recorders and Data Networks.
Roles & Responsibilities
· Manage all the Release Management aspect.
· Proactively deploy and coordinate releases, patches, fixes, and any updates to Avaya products in staging and production environments of Avaya’s global customer base while adhering to policies and guidelines
· Perform software/firmware release upgrade for customers and ensure the Avaya Networking devices are on the latest version available.
· Be part of discussions with customers and other stakeholders and help them understand the need for the upgrade; analyze the risk and impact and assist them in their change management process
· Proactively manages release and environment issues to minimize impact on delivery and project plans.
· Performs post-implementation reviews, as appropriate, evaluating Release results and opportunities for improvement.
· Document Release changes and keep the CMDB updated
· Participates in upgrade planning through contribution of activities and efforts related to Release and Environment Management
· Perform configuration changes, health checks and troubleshooting related to upgrades
· Collaborating with other functions like Incident Management, Change Management and Service transition teams to manage customer relationship.
· Spearhead process changes as required and be mentor to other team members.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/MCA
· 6-8 years of experience working IT, Database, Telecommunications
· CCNA CCNP certifications or similar with other technologies
· Good command on SIP/H.323 protocols
· Experience in change management or release management activities
· ACIS, ACSS, ITIL, certifications would be a plus
· Knowledge of VMWare, Sphere client or Web Client (Virtual Machines)
· Level experience working with Avaya Aura devices - configuration and upgrade would be a plus
· System Manager/Session Manager 7.x or 8.0
· Communication Manager 7.x or 8.0
· Avaya Aura Contact Center 7.x or 8.0
· Experience working with Avaya/Verint recorder – 10.x and above
· Experience working with Avaya Networking devices – ERS, SR
· Good communication skills – Fluency in English is mandatory
