Structural Design Engineer
DSM Demolition is one of the UK's leading Demolition & Decommissioning experts.
DSM has an international reputation of undertaking the demolition of prestious projects such as IRFC Lansdowne Road, in Ireland, The de-construction of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford upon Avon and the former 8 storey car park at New Street Station.
Based in the Midlands, we wish to recruit a structural design engineer to compliment our busy team to provide engineered solutions including the preparation of accurate calculations, 2d and 3d detailed technical sketches, drawings, visualisations and risk assessed method statements to support both the contract and the estimating department for:- temporary works, calculation of allowable floor loadings, structural investigations etc.

Person Specification
The suitable candidate can must be qualified chartered engineer with a degree or equivalent in Engineering (BEng) and or (BSc) or (MEng), with good general level of education and excellent IT skills and a good knowledge of Autodesk Construction Suite.Educated to degree level in CAD in Construction Design or equivalent.
Further qualification Construction Management or equivalent, is desirable
Attention to detail
Good standard of education with good IT skills.
Will be fully conversant in Visual Basic Project or similar etc. and a good knowledge of the building regulations.
Have a good track record of working within a similar field. Must be able to use computer software packages and produce technical reports.
Good presentation, communication, interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate verbally and by e-mail appropriately to colleagues and clients and Internet for research purposes.
Use developed listening skills when discussing work matters with colleagues and clients.
Understand and interpret the content of technical reports and papers.
Use computer databases & programs to update information and record keeping.
Self motivated and possess ability to work under own initiative to assist in achievement of project objectives
Ability to work independently and take personal responsibility for own tasks.
