Job description
· Coordinate with weight control department to get the as built information
· Calculate the floatability of each tunnel element, determine where to put ballast concrete prior to float up and determine the water tank levels for trimming. Check if your plan stays within all requirements, e.g. post-tensioning capacity, minimum freeboard.
· Coordinate with the outfitting team to ensure your ballast plan will be implemented
· Coordinate with marine operations to ensure the tanks will be filled according to your plan
· Assist during float up and determine the water ballast trim correction based on the actual freeboard
· Determine the ballast concrete quantity to be placed before sea transport in combination with trim water. For this plan you check the section forces versus the post-tensioning capacity and the weight requirements for transport, immersion and post-immersion
· Coordinate with the outfitting team to ensure your determined plan is implemented
· Coordinate with marine operations regarding hoist loads in immersion pontoon and the trimming with water of the tunnel element
· Coordinate with finishing regarding the ballast exchange after immersion
· Same responsibilities as above, excluding post-tensioning checks and the works regarding the ballast jetty. The Special Tunnel element will not have post-tensioning and will not have ballast concrete application at the ballast jetty, but will be made negative buoyant with ballast water at the immersion location
· In addition, you will:
· Do the design calculation regarding weight and trim for the potential changes coming from the deep special tunnel element
· Design the tank layout for potential changes coming for the deep special tunnel elements in collaboration with all other disciplines (Permanent works design, marine operations, TE systems, Outfitting & Finishing, Marine outfitting Temporary works design, etc)
· Do the calculations for the change requests
· You will do the weight analysis for the closure joint for the phases:
- Concept design
- Basic design
- Detail design
Desired profile
1 - Age: you must be at least 18 and under 28 on the date you apply.
2 - Nationality: all young people with the nationality of a country in the European Economic Area are eligible to volunteer.
3 - National service: If you are under 25, you must be able to provide your defence identification number, which certifies that you have taken part in the national census and the Journée Défense et Citoyenneté (Defence and Citizenship Day).
4 - Criminal record: To become an International Volunteer, you must have a clean criminal record (bulletin no. 2) with no entries that are incompatible with your assignment.
5 - Have been declared medically fit to carry out the assignment. You will need to provide a medical certificate attesting to this.
BAC + 5 from an engineering school
Fluency in English
A maritime speciality/sensitivity such as naval or offshore architecture or coastal engineering
