Job description

Join Pernod-Ricard UK and you’ll be joining a global leader in the wines and spirits market and working with a portfolio of luxury premium brands (including Absolut Vodka, Jameson Irish Whiskey, Martell Cognac, Havana Club Rum, Malibu and Perrier-Jouet Champagne).

We are looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant who will join our Finance Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team and assists the Business Analysis team.

The role involves:

Rebates & Commissions

  • Process and manage R&C invoices
  • Liaising with the Sales team and customers on any issues
  • Maintain and update the R&C database for pricing
  • Reconcile R&C balance sheet account ahead of the monthly reporting deadline
  • Prepare quarterly commission statements for some of our key customers

A&P

  • Trade A&P Expenditure
  • Ensure all invoices are fully checked and authorised
  • Process invoices for payment according to the payment terms
  • Update promotional calendars
  • Track last year accruals and provide summaries on the outstanding amounts
  • Cash allocation – the daily matching of all cash receipts to the Accounts Receivable ledger accounts
  • Raising of sundry invoices & credit notes
  • Credit limit reviews and checks
  • Preparing reports for presentation to key stakeholders
  • Preparing returns for VAT, Intrastat and ECSL and ensuring all declarations are submitted
  • Monitoring debtor balances and notifying stakeholders of any overdue accounts
  • Preparing monthly bank reconciliations

What do we require?

You will:

  • Have a minimum of 1 year's experience working in a FP&A environment
  • Have a degree in Accounting (or equivalent knowledge)
  • Have started or are looking to begin your CIMA qualification
  • Have a drive to achieve; demonstrated by strong academics and personal achievements (a minimum of a 2.1 grade and 300 UCAS points over three subjects
  • Have strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Have strong numerical and problem solving skills
  • Be positive and team focused
  • Be organised and professional
