About Us:
For over 27 years Dinner Dates has been the most well regarded and established singles social club in the UK. Based primarily in London we have members from across the country and around the world. We pride ourselves on being able to provide a one-to-one experience with all our members and do not operate like a typical online site. Our business model is based on people having the opportunity to to discuss events directly with a member of the team so we can maintain a personal relationship. We like to think of our members as friends not members. Our events usually take place from Fri – Sun.

The Role:
Hours required: Mon - Fri 11am - 6.30pm.

~Due to the nature of the business the above times may vary in some weeks.~

The day-to-day responsibilities will include:

-Taking bookings, processing payments, sending confirmations and keeping the guestlists up to date.
-Researching and contacting new venues.
-Writing copy and adding events to the website.
-Updating our social media pages.
-Calling members about future events.
-Responding to requests and queries from members and potential members.
-Sending out newsletters to our member database.
-Other ad hoc tasks as and when required.
Candidate Profile:

-Excellent written English due to member correspondence and writing web copy.
-Competent computer user with Intermediate Excel database skills.
-Team player with a can-do attitude.
-Warm and engaging telephone manner is essential as we interact with members and suppliers regularly.
-Good understanding of social media and digital marketing.

You will have the opportunity to attend Dinner Dates events so those with an outgoing personality will be suited to this role. This option will be discussed at the interview. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience into the events industry, dealing directly with members and learning about event processes.

How it works:

-The internship scheme we run is for 12 weeks; you are expected to be committed for the entire 3 month duration so that you can fully engage with all elements of the business.
-Our aim is to prepare you for a role in events by teaching you key skills such as planning, booking and selling events, as well as helping you to understand the importance of good administration and the necessity to liaise with members and businesses.
-After you have completed the internship there may be an opportunity for further employment; 99% of our interns go into full-time work after working with us and this is something we are immensely proud of.
-You will get a certificate to prove you have completed an internship here with us and we will provide your new employer with a reference if you wish.

Please note that only weekly travel expenses will be covered, however there is opportunities to attend our events.

We are always hiring for the internship program as it runs year-round; we looking for those able to start immediately or in 12 weeks so please specify your availability in your cover letter.

Desired profile

This role is suitable for 2nd year university students or post-graduates; we consider all courses which is why it is essential you include a cover letter and CV.

We would also consider those with relevant work experience; in this case you should have held a position in a company for at least 1 year and have worked in an office at some point so that we can ascertain you administrative skills

Promotional and sales experience is desirable but not necessary.

You MUST have experience using Gmail/GDocs and the MS Office package.
