VAP & POS team is a pioneering function at the forefront of Customer marketing with the goal to turn brand platforms into effective POSM (point of sale materials) & VAPs (value added packaging) solutions. This is absolutely critical, as Spirits market is a dark market with advertising allowed in point of purchase only, hence POS materials and packaging become our primary media. It’s about getting the right materials within planned brand activities in trade to win the Moment of Choice with shoppers in different formats&sales channels.
Purpose of Role
1. To transform brand ideas and visuals into POSM and VAP solutions, driving the creation of compelling POSM and VAP growth drivers across spirits in the off and on trade.
2. Lead the cross-functional agenda, own and drive VAP and POS processes within the company
Top Accountabilities
1. In collaboration and as per given brand strategies lead development of best-in-class pioneering POSM and VAP solutions for 18 months ahead within strategic GAME plan
2. Accountable for end-to-end orchestration of both, VAP and POSM process for all DIAGEO brands through leadership and coordination of all functions and stakeholders
3. Drives the adaptation of the brand platforms into the effective channel, format and customer POSM solutions together with brand teams based on trade environment understanding and shopper insights
- Leads POSM adaptation for channel/format/customer needs
- Builds the bridge b/n the CP&A, Sales, Brand team and Procurement and give clear guidelines on customer technical requirements for brand teams when designing the POSM and VAPs
- Ensures all the plans are communicated clearly and timely to the CP&A and sales team to implement
- Manages the local agencies
- Evaluates effectiveness of key programs
4. Accountable for the A&P spend for VAPs and POS
5. Accountable for process and controlling the amount of % POSM and VAPs left-overs and managing old POSM and VAPs on the warehouse
6. True partner to the Logistics team on timely and efficient VAPs and POSM delivery schemes
7. Drives global productivity agenda within VAP&POSM area.
8. Builds of effective relationships across the business and with external partners to get the result
Qualifications and experience required
- Higher education
- 6+ years of overall experience in brand or trade marketing; exposure to procurement function will be a plus
- 2+ years of experience with POS materials management
- Proven experience of leading complex projects
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to operate cross-culturally and cross-functionally; excellent relationship builder
- Very good trade environment and shopper understanding
- Business planning skills together with proven excellence in execution
- Ability to manage multiple priorities being good at decision making
- Excellent English is required
