Context
This is an excellent opportunity for someone of Graduate caliber looking to start a career in Company Secretariat. You will join a small team based across Europe and will be given the training and support necessary to build a successful career in the world's leading Drinks organization.
The main purpose of this job is to provide, at a junior professional level, a company secretarial service to key stakeholders and to deliver the departmental key result areas.
The Role
As Company Secretarial Trainee you will:
· Ensure, with supervision from the Company Secretarial Assistant, that the statutory records and filings for Diageo plc and its GB subsidiaries are kept up to date and developing systems to improve this process
· Be responsible for maintaining and participating in the development of the Blueprint company secretarial database
· Be aware, at appropriate level, of applicable law, regulation, best practice and internal policies and procedures and updates thereto
· Operate on a project basis which requires team members to adopt a flexible approach and will take his/her share of responsibility for and ownership of key tasks, at an appropriate level
· Deal with execution of documents
The Person
You will have knowledge and experience of the following:
· A degree is essential, possibly in a related discipline
· Studying for or recently passed the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators examinations
· Effective team player
· Flexible and non-status conscious
· Demonstrably following a Chartered Secretary career path
· Demonstrably articulate and literate
· Highly PC literate
· Excellent numeracy skills
· Demonstrably articulate and literate
· Some commercial awareness
· Office-based work experience would be preferable
