The UK & Ireland Occupational Health service (OHS), provides technical expertise and leadership regarding strategic health priorities for the business. The OHS is responsible for implementing a number of Health Improvement programmes which have a positive impact on our working environment, whilst also equipping our employees with the knowledge and tools to develop a positive and balanced approach to their own health and wellbeing.
The Occupational Health Nursing Advisor needs to create and operate in an environment based on trust, openness, challenge and team work. They will aim to prevent work-related ill health and in doing so maintain employees productivity at work in a highly competitive business environment. This is an exciting position for anyone looking for a change of scenery and take on a new challenge within their nursing career.
This role is based on 17 hours a week (Weds-Fri) so perfect for anyone looking for flexible working. It will be primarily based from our Leven site in Fife, but you will need to be able to work from other sites such as Cameron Bridge and Edinburgh Park when needed.
Purpose of the Role
To improve organisational effectiveness by providing a pro-active Occupational Health Service which includes an overseas business travel service, managing attendance and improving employee wellbeing.
To develop the capability of the organisation to deal effectively with Occupational Health issues and legislative matters. Support Line managers on implementation of company policy and current legislation. Order and maintain any departmental supplies.
Top 3-5 Accountabilities
1.Support the development and implementation of the Occupational Health strategy and vision to allow the employees of our business to achieve and sustain a level of health and wellbeing which allows them to maximise their potential both in work and in life.
2.Work in partnership with management teams to increase productivity by actively driving down sickness absence.
3.Organising and undertaking employment/ pre-placement health assessments, business travel risk assessments and immunisations and new and expectant mother risk assessments.
4.Develop day-to-day interface with external/ internal agencies providing specialist advice to line managers on legislative matters including implementation where necessary.
5.Promote a positive culture of wellbeing by identifying opportunities for health promotion, education and training on health issues and preventative measures.
Qualifications and Experience Required
Registered Nurse.
Recognised qualification in Occupational Health or working toward one.
Minimum 2 years post registration experience and experience within an Occupational Health setting.
Full driving license.
