Rate : Class “A”

Duties : As a member of the maintenance team you will ensure that all mechanical assets are maintained to a high standard. Plant breakdowns will be repaired in a timely manner.

Function: The general responsibilities of the function are:

•Carry out a wide range of mechanical engineering tasks including planned maintenance of assets, repairs to assets, installations, and plant improvements.
•Working to comply with Risk Management Standards e.g. H&S, Statutory regulations. Fully comply with all legal and statutory requirements.
•Working on a non-continuous shift pattern with flexibility to cover out of hours breakdown.
•Ensure the day to day running of all mechanical assets.
•Update records using the computerized maintenance system.

Qualifications: Manitoba Industrial Mechanic Millwright Certification or An Inter-Provincial Journeyman's Red Seal certificate in the Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) trade, and current registration with the Manitoba Department of Labour are required.
Working out of General Maintenance and reporting to the Team Leader and Planner, or his designate, the Maintenance Mechanic will have the following:
•Proven mechanical aptitude and ability to perform the maintenance activities required of the position;
•Innovative, dependable, safety orientated with a proven attendance record
•Capable of effectively performing requirements of the job with a minimum amount of supervision and capable of working alone when necessary or required
•Experience in all aspects of the Industrial Mechanic's trade will be an asset
•Excellent troubleshooting skills and a proven ability to conduct emergency repairs in plant operational areas
•Demonstrated computer skills will be considered an asset.
