Diageo – Paid Legal Internship - 8 weeks - starting 1st July

Our legal team  is truly international, diverse in culture and experience. We employ many different specialists across the world and have dedicated global and in-market teams supporting the business including on commercial, IP, procurement, anti-trust, compliance, privacy and litigation issues.  

The role

Our rotational  8-week programme  based at our Global HQ in Park Royal NW London will give you the opportunity to work across Diageo’s UK/Europe legal team and Global function teams on a variety of tasks, whilst gaining valuable business and commercial experience.

You will work with colleagues across a number of legal disciplines and will get involved in tasks such as: 

·  Research and preparation of briefing notes on legal issues
·  Contract drafting and reviewing
·  Supporting on the drafting and implementation of Diageo policies
·  Attending meetings with the business and/or external stakeholders
·  Assisting with advice to the business on day to day issues such as product advertising, marketing materials and compliance with Diageo’s marketing code

The Person

We’re looking for a graduate who has the capability to succeed in our fun and fast paced organisation. Full of energy, integrity, capacity to work under pressure as part of a team or independently, willing to demonstrate initiative in everything you do. Following your instincts and standing up for what you feel is right.

Qualifications & Experience:

Candidates must be educated to degree level (min 2.1) in any discipline (but if not Law  you must be studying for or have completed the GDL); achieved min 3 Bs at A-level (or equivalent) and be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in pursuing a commercial legal career. Candidates must have some previous practical/job experience, but this does not need to be in law.
