Context
Maturation South encompasses 8 operational sites involved in filling, disgorging & maturation spirit processes, including bodega and rum operations, warehousing incorporating traditional, high racking & palletised operations.
The Coopering team is responsible for the safe movement of empty casks within an established set of process procedures. Initially based at Cambus Cooperage you will be required to support a range of activities at these sites including filling, warehousing, disgorging and empty cask handling.
Focused on delivering the Maturation South's production commitment, specifically within Cambus Cooperage. The role will cover a 3 shift rotation working Sunday to Friday 38 hrs per week.
Key Outputs
· To achieve or surpass the planned weekly / daily production schedules.
· Timely produce cask output to recognized quality standards.
· Timely produce cask rebuilds, enlargers, rejuvenations as well as cask repairs. Support the business in all areas of cask production as required.
· Understand and adhere to Cooperage schedules
· Maintain key communications with the filling stores to ensure quality and service levels are maintained.
· Provide support as required to production departments.
· Accountable for the 5s strategy in the Cooperage.
· Be able to demonstrate flexibility to operate within all areas of the Cooperage.
· Be responsible for ensuring any Maintenance requirements are dealt with.
· Provide regular progress reports on agreed objectives with Cooperage Management team.
Qualifications and Experience Required
· This role has requirement for time served and fully qualified Coopers with a proven track record, although appropriate training will be provided for all business areas.
· This type of role will entail physical manual handling activities. A large proportion of the work will involve bending, twisting, and turning, stooping, some overreaching and standing for long periods of time.
· This position Involves both team and lone person working that require effective decision-making and problem solving skills as well as an ability to use initiative to adapt pre-set work plans.
· Appropriate action must always be taken that ensures full compliance with all H&S, R&C, COMAH regulations and environmental constraints.
· Candidates must have a full clean UK driving licence, a forklift driving license would be an advantage but not a necessity
· Work to safe systems of work including work instructions and risk assessments
· PC literate
· Knowledge/awareness of Health and Safety
· Candidates must be mobile and prepared to travel for work purposes
· Most important attribute will be to have the right behavioural skill, which demonstrates a Can Do attitude and an ability to challenge appropriately
