Brand Manager, Guinness Trademark
Guinness has set the pace globally for building brand distinction in the beer category for over 257 years. This is a business critical position for one of the Top 3 Diageo Global Beer geographies. Based in Manhattan, the Brand Manager will be responsible for developing and executing brand plans to drive share and NSV growth, develop growth drivers for all trademarks, build brand strength and deepen consumer connections. The Diageo Beer Company is seeking an insightful brand marketer with strategic leadership and marketing functional excellence who will be responsible for helping to develop and deliver the brand strategy through marketing plans and product launches that deliver annual operating plans & share growth for the Guinness and beer portfolio which includes Guinness, Guinness innovations, Harp and Smithwick's. The Brand Manager we seek is someone who has a challenger mindset, is comfortable breaking corporate & consumer norms, and to prove the unproven to win. A leader able to engage others around their ideas and inspire their agencies and other stakeholders to dream big and execute even bigger. Someone who enjoys marketing and being part of a fun and dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
· Accountable for the beer Annual Operating Plan including Volume, Revenue and Gross Profit
· Responsible for developing through-the-line strategy & briefs to create consumer centric programs to agencies and cross functional teams.
· Responsible for implementation of BTL consumer centric programs including experiential/sampling & evaluation of programs across all channels – On premise and Off Premise.
· Responsible for ensuring commercial teams are equipped with the right tools and selling materials to execute sales drivers and local activation.
· Assist in development of all brand communications, media plans, PR.
· Responsible for understanding and evaluating the effectiveness of marketing activity and implementing search and spin of proven tactics from other markets relevant for the US.
· Lead management of sponsorships across the brand working closely with PR team and agencies.
· Support the strategic thinking for and development of the Guinness and beer Portfolio GAME plans.
· Work closely with cross functional teams (Customer Marketing, Finance, DBC Sales and National Chain Account teams) to ensure actionable plans, gain activation of brand activity, and alignment of field activity to strategic priorities.
· Responsible for guarding and maintaining consistent brand identity.
· Support of Guinness Innovation/Renovation Agenda including development of new ideas in collaboration with the innovation team and integration of new product launches into the brand plans
· Responsible for ad hoc brand and category performance analysis plus making recommendations to address or exploit issues and opportunities. Experience
· 3-5 years marketing experience in Consumer Packaged Goods or on a Lifestyle brand or agency; beer/ alcohol beverage experience a plus.
· Must possess a sense of fun, be a self-starter and genuinely enjoy in market brand activations
· Demonstrated experience of working in a dynamic category with a rapid and competitive consumer purchase cycle and has a proven track record of succeeding against market conditions.
· Strong leadership, problem solving, stakeholder engagement and decision-making skills and an effective communicator.
· Excellent multi-tasker, comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and matrixed organization who holds themselves to a world class standard of output and demonstrates a relentless desire to deliver the best performing marketing programs.
· Ability to inspire and motivate agency and internal partners. Highly developed relationship skills.
· Demonstrated prowess in understanding the digital media landscape and major media outlets.
