As DHL extends it ESG Supplier Programs, it is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate supplier facing auditor to join the global procurement team, bringing energy and enthusiasm to help build and maintain a sustainable and resilient supplier base in the DHL Group by ensuring that environmental, social, and ethical (ESG) standards applicable by law, and in line with DHL Group’s own standards, are built into relevant processes and accepted by suppliers.

 

Job Purpose:

As a Supplier Sustainability Lead Assessor, your primary responsibility will be to plan and execute professional desk-based and on-site assessments using the SMETA 4 pillars methodology. You will play a crucial role in identifying, documenting, and aligning corrective action plans, ensuring timely follow-up. Additionally, your role involves creating and delivering impactful presentations for both suppliers and internal teams, contributing to accurate and timely reporting, and maintaining relevant systems and procedures.

 

Your tasks:

  • Plan and conduct ESG Supplier Assessments based on SMETA 4 pillars methodology, incorporating desk-based and on-site evaluations.
  • Identify, document, align, and follow up on corrective action plans in a timely manner.
  • Develop and deliver professional PowerPoint presentations and communication packages for both internal teams and suppliers in relation to audits.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting as required by line management, contributing to overall assessment targets.
  • Update and maintain necessary systems for registering reports and results, preparing presentations for relevant teams and management.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures related to audits, identifying efficiency drivers.
  • Monitor and support Corrective Action Plan (CAP) management for suppliers undergoing various ESG Supplier Assessments by 3rd parties and in-house Self Assessment Questionnaires.
  • Recommend and develop relevant training for suppliers based on CAP trends.
  • Support team in supplier assessment campaigns and allegation management.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, International Management, Supply Chain Management, Sustainability Studies, or equivalent experience/qualification.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), knowledge of German desirable.
  • Working knowledge and experience of SMETA 4 pillars or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience leading audits and coaching others.
  • ESG-related supplier assessment knowledge with understanding of supply chain risks.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, capable of developing strong working relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to change, committed to continuous personal and professional development.
  • Strong coordinating and facilitating skills.
  • High organizational skills, ability to operate autonomously, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a process and results-oriented personality.
  • Pragmatic with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to think from a business perspective and influence stakeholders positively.
