Job description

Your task

Main purpose of the job:

To provide database administrative services within the department.

Key areas of responsibility:

·  Installation and configuration of IBM UDB, SQL Server and or Oracle database Software.
·  Analyze and resolve problem tickets relating to T-Systems internal and client Database Systems.
·  Monitor and report on the Performance, Uptime of the DBMS subsystem.
·  Provide support to Users developing applications that access the DBMS.
·  Participate in Logical and Physical Design of databases.
·  Perform all functions/tasks according to processes and procedures
·  Participate in design and formulation of proposals to clients.
·  Participate in projects relating to team functions
·  Standby according to time roster to allow 24 x 7 availability (no longer than 1 week at a time)
·  Adhere to internal Admin processes (i.e. Time allocation per task, overtime, etc.)
·  Participate as part of a team.
·  Client focused

Criteria for selection:

·  Applicants must be South African citizens;
·  Have completed a National Diploma/Degree in Information Technology (Computer Science) / SQL Server certification or equivalent  and be able to demonstrate good academic record and achievements;
·  Application forms must be completed in full and copies of academic records must be included;
·  Not have previously participated in an internship or graduate programme;
·  Have no work experience in the field of study;
·  A recent graduate (2010-2016);
·  Considered a youth (18-27 years);
·  Verified qualification certificate and no criminal record;
·  Effective communication in English (written and verbal);
·  Computer literacy (MS Office – basic Word, PowerPoint, Excel);
·  Prepared to undergo psychometric assessments.
