We are offering fourteen exceptional candidates the chance to be a Warehouse   First Line Manager to manage, plan and co-ordinate the people and resources of an operations function.  The performance of the area should be maximised through exceeding customer requirements and increasing right first time performance. Must lead and report upon the work activities of the team; providing effective communication, leadership, motivation, training & development whilst ensuring that data is used to support the decision making process. Achieving objectives in line with Safety, Quality, Cost, People and Delivery targets.   

What are you accountable for achieving as  First Line Manager?

Plan, manage and adjust staffing levels to meet operational requirements                                                    
Direct the daily activity to ensure a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for team members 
Deliver team member performance reviews, Train, develop coach and/or succession planning as appropriate 
Manage all disciplinary and grievance issues in line with HR policy and procedures    
Work in collaboration with other DHL sites to maximise efficiency and share best practice 
Ensure process adherence through effective standardised work audits                                                         
Manage, drive and deliver operational KPI's - SQDCPE                                                                                         
Organise and take the lead on maximising resource capability and productivity - 1 man 3 jobs, 3 men 1 job etc   
Team building and morale management                                                                                                                     

What will you need as a successful First Line Manager?

Through Knowledge - Able to demonstrate thorough knowledge  of a technical or specialty area using relevant   skills. 
Able to readily learn and apply new information an techniques in area of practice                                        
Good oral and written communication skills                                                                                                             
Experience - 2-4 years experience in People
Management -  leadership experience & area of responsibility  
People Management - Able to Provide expert advice and guidance to the development of junior staff -  Team building, employee engagement, managing performance, training/succession planning, appraisals/feedback, personnel development                                                                                                         
Continuous Improvement & Problem Resolution  - Experience in Problem resolution- pre-empts potential problems and provides effective resolution, able to apply knowledge, techniques and processes.  
Autonomy - Experience in working under Minimal  supervision, Able to work with latitude                         
Interfacing directly with the customer                                                                                                                        
Active Leadership skills
