What are you accountable for achieving as a Transport Manager?
We are offering one exceptional candidate the chance to be a Transport Manager to deliver cost effective and compliant transport operations
To develop the transport function
To ensure full compliance with all relevant legislative and corporate requirements relating to transport
To manage cost and service in line with agreed Key Performance Indicators
To ensure quality standards are maintained in line with OTIF measures
Ensure compliance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Ensure company policies are communicated, applied and enforced
Direct the daily activity to ensure a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for all transport team members
To ensure colleagues are aware of business developments and daily / weekly performance targets through active and effective communications
Ensure the transport department achieves the performance targets required and contributes to the achievement of service levels
Liaison with the Warehouse teams to ensure all loads are completed accurately and loaded on time
Ensure media returns are maximised
Liaise collaboratively with customer services to improve customer satisfaction levels in line with agreed business targets
Accountability for employee satisfaction levels by applying principals of Active Leadership and Employee Engagement
Ensure compliance with the organisations health, safety and security procedures and contribute to risk assessments and the development of safe systems of work
Promote and behave in a way consistent with the organisation's vision, values and principals of First Choice Way
What will you need as a successful Transport Manager?
Legal compliance i.e. understanding of legislative regulations and / or standards
2-3 years experience in transport
Experience of operating with outbased operations
International CPC Holder (essential)
Secondary school standard of general education
