System Support Specialist (Database)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

·  Database environment planning, implementation, testing, maintenance & support in Global Data Centre
·  Provide database support of deep technical expertise to all stakeholders in a stable, productive and cost effective manner
·  Provide speedy resolution or escalation of operational incident/problem, including liaison with vendors
·  Support day to day database activities. 24 x 7 support model
·  Ensure database services availability and comply with SLA & OLA
·  Perform database monitoring activities to prevent incident and maximize database availability
·  Perform database backup and recovery activity
·  Provide root cause analysis and solution for incident / problem

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

·  Bachelor degree or equivalent or higher in IT / Computer Science / Engineering
·  3-6 years solid production technical experience in UNIX/Linux and Oracle RDBMS, RAC, Clusterware, ASM and Dataguard.
·  OCP holder has added advantage
·  Require to attend 24x7 support (on-call / on shift)
·  Solid Oracle RDBMS and RAC administration in 9i – 12c.
·  Administration skills in UNIX (HP-UX) and Linux (RHEL)
·  Setup, maintain, patch & support for Oracle RDBMS environment
·  Solid experience in RMAN Backup & Recovery with Symantec Veritas Netbackup 7.x.
·  Hands-on experience of Database Backup and restore, full, differential, and log backups, ability to describe a serious DB DR Situation.
·  Proficiency in Active Data Guard with Flashback Setup, Administration and Troubleshooting
·  Excellent understanding of high availability environments, RAC & Grid Infra cluster knowledge
·  Pro-active database engine monitoring
·  Knowledge in ITIL processes
·  Solid logical, analytical thinking, troubleshooting & problem-solving skill
·  Proficiency & Solid skill in UNIX SHELL (bash/ksh) scripting. (Python, Perl or PHP are also welcome
·  Excellent communication
·  Willing to take up the operation support of other core RDBMS like Informix, MySQL..
·  Work independently with minimum technical supervision and provide guidance to team mates.
