What are you accountable for achieving as a Transport FLM?
Management of the scheduling and planning of the transport operation, ensuring vehicle utilisation is maximised and service levels met
Ensure the sites consistently meets the customer expectations in relation to service and quality, ensuring that operational processes & SOPs are followed consistently and that performance targets are achieved or exceeded
Recruitment, management and development of drivers and transport team including succession planning
Ensure delivery of agreed budget /cost efficiency targets through effective financial management
Compliance with company and local statutory obligations regarding working time legislation, operator licensing, Health and Safety and Quality Management
Achievement of customer service levels in line with contractual agreement for Home Delivery
Ensure that the Company’s health and safety policies and obligations are adhered to and that all Safe Systems of Work are adhered to
Ensure compliance with road transport legislation
Lead and develop the transport team whilst promoting a positive environment of continuous improvement

What will you need as an successful Transport FLM?

Experience in a Supply Chain business is essential
2 years experience managing teams is essential
2 years in transport management role is desirable
Knowledge and experience of Transport legislation
GCSE/O Level or equivalent Secondary Level is essential
Transport operations qualification (CPC National and International) is essential
Logistics Management qualification is desirable
