Purpose of the Role
Operations Management System (OMS) is a global programme designed to deliver an improvement in individual, team & site productivity and performance. OMS is critical to the delivery of Strategy 2020 and a key corner stone of the DSC Operations Excellence workstream. The programme is to be delivered to a globally consistent standard, around two key workstreams: Technical Engineering (enabling the production of accurate performance data) and Change & Coaching (the constructive use of the data to drive improved performance).

The purpose of this role is to carry out the detailed evaluation of an operation and its processes, complete configuration & implementation of the appropriate Planning & Tracking tools, to train the site team to maintain the system and produce relevant reports, to set up and chair weekly and monthly update / progress calls with site teams and provide ongoing engineering support with the ultimate aim to enable sites to develop colleagues, improve and sustain productivity and generate real financial benefit.This role requires the Engineer to have a strong operational background and be able to command the respect of the site teams to ensure that the programme is delivered effectively & the target benefits realised. They will ensure that each site's engineering activities are completed accurately and thoroughly, and then train individual managers to maintain the system and produce reports that can be used to develop warehouse colleagues

They need to be a confident communicator, presenter and energetic self starter, as well as ideally having specific skills in process observation, work measurement resource planning & performance tracking systems. They must also possess the organisational & time management skills to be able to 'juggle' multiple sites concurrently to ensure timely delivery of the UK&I OMS programme & benefit pipeline.

What you will need to apply for this opportunity:

Very Strong operational background in the supply chain industry
Understanding of complex logistical operations Understanding of key business processes
Experience in Performance Management, productivity and Industrial Engineering highly desirable
Very system literate and a process thinker.
Experience working within supply chain operations is essential for this role.
Experience in a manufacturing/operational environment is needed.
Experience of cross functional working with operations and functions (IT/ Eng). Experience of DHL Operations Excellence tools (including Performance Dialogue, Gemba
& DMAIC)
The role holder must be dynamic and goal orientated; enabling local teams to work accordingly to the regional plans.
The ability to influence without authority is required strongly / significantly in this role.
The role holder must act on self initiative but understand the role as an integrated team role.
Experience is needed to collaborate with operational managers across all levels within a country.Strong in Process understanding and LEAN approach.
Good analytical capability.A confident communicator, presenter and energetic self starter
The role holder must also possess the organisational & time management skills to be able to 'juggle' multiple implementations concurrently.
