These are exciting times at DHL and we are currently seeking an exceptional candidate to join us as a Maintenance Engineer

To ensure that all mechanical and electrical equipment is fully maintained and operational at all times.
Perform planned routine maintenance tasks. 
Complete daily workloads to meet the legislative and DC requirements.
Carry out on site projects as requested.
Provide technical/specialist support in all areas of the DC as requested by the Shift Manager.
Participate in/ out of hour callouts on a rotation basis.
Contribute to the maintenance of Health and Safety in the work place.
Ability to work on your own initiative without direct supervision

Key Responsibilities in this role will include:
Compliance with relevant Health & Safety Legislation
Maintain awareness of all relevant health and safety legislation
Report all maintenance risks to the Shift Manager
Ensure standard maintenance procedures are maintained
Ensure all maintenance equipment is kept in good condition and in working order
Conduct risk assessments in line with agreed procedures
Challenge existing processes and procedures to standardise, simplify and automate
Effective Communication
Escalate all major and minor incidents in line with current escalation procedure
Ensure that all correspondence, whether electronic or manual, is dealt with efficiently and in a timely manner
Liaise in a professional manner with internal and external contacts at all levels
Possess accomplished written communication skills including report writing
Able to effectively communicate verbally at all levels
Confident and positive, able to manage relationships at all levels
Effective communications with other Spectrum for Arcadia sites
Compliance with Company Procedures
Understand and adhere to all maintenance procedures
Understand and comply with agreed escalation procedure
Ensure that all Health & Safety procedures are adhered to.

Key skills and experience in this role will include:
Essential

Good standard of General Education
City & Guilds 1, 2 in Mechanical Electrical engineering
PAT testing
Minimum 2 years’ experience within a maintenance role
Awareness of current Health and Safety legislation and practices
Knowledge of good maintenance practices
Experience of working in a logistics environment
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Organisation and planning skills
Systems and PC literate 
Team player
Positive attitude
Flexible approach
Attention to detail
Self-motivated
Good understanding of COSHH
Ability to adapt to change and manage pressure
Desirable
Full driving licence
PAT testing
Knowledge of Conveyor PLC systems
