DHL has an opening for a full time Claims Adjuster in our Tempe, AZ call center. The Claims Adjuster will be responsible for planning, directing, and administering Risk Management and property preservation programs to optimize protection for DHL's assets at the lowest possible cost of risk. Jointly manages loss control and claims management programs. Monitors, evaluates, and makes recommendations to minimize risk exposure and losses.
Tasks & Accountabilities
- Investigates and reviews all information related to claims.
- Processes documentation according to established procedures to review and resolve claims.
- Maintains account records of claim activities.
- Advises claimants and DHL personnel on claims procedures and Terms and Conditions.
- Prepares claims reports.
- Receives and establishes files for all cargo claims.
- Escalates unusual or complex claims issues as appropriate.
- Gathers and prepares data for claim files.
- Will evaluate Claims procedures manual on an on-going basis for accurate and complete information, and provides recommendations for improvement as needed.
- Will review cargo claims for settlement recommendations and approve within stated guidelines, regardless of claimants request.
Skills & Qualifications
-One year of claims experience, preferably in logistics industry.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Handles outbound and inbound customer calls.
- Reviews customer claims and communicate outcome approve within stated guidelines.
- Technical certification or Associate degree may be required in some areas
- Preferably 3+ years of experience in related area of responsibility.
- Subject matter expert in service, production, or support area of responsibility
- Performs all of the standard, specialized and most complex aspects of the function
