As a Automotive Planner you will be responsible for ensuring that you design, plan, lead or assist in implementation of sub projects defined by the planning manager. Sub projects based on customers changing requirements in line with current demand forecasts.

Key Responsibilities in this role will include;

PFEP creation & maintenance
Market place design & change management (Capacity planning)
Freight cost saving reviews with DHL UK and EU freight teams
Inventory analysis & inventory reduction planning with JLR MP&L team
Leading Project status reviews with JLR/DHL ops teams, tracking, managing and resolving issues
Project timing planning
Best practice deployment of processes for Tri-plant
Resource modelling - manpower calculations
Identify & design operational costs savings through productivity improvements
Manipulate customer systems calculating future change requirements (Cost & space)
Direct liaison with JLR planning team (Co-ordination for model specific changes)
Planning contact & support for operations ensuring seamless introduction of projects
Contingency planning for projected plans ensuring key milestones are delivered on time
Project implementation - leading projects from ideas bank to operational handover
Model year/new model introduction
Ensuring that site AutoCAD drawings are updated and accurate
Updating project status files and presenting to JLR/DHL
Project documentation - ensuring is updated and issues escalated as required/issues resolved
Explore all options and alternative ideas for solutions
Solution design to enable future site production
Displacement planning for future model introduction
Evaluate risks and benefits of available solutions
Project implementation and documentation
Process improvement
Solution design
Data manipulation/analysis to determine future space requirement - justification presented to customer
Minimum and Maximum calculations using information from customer systems (Current WMS system in use)
Change management to internal feed systems such as delivery route balancing (SMART)
Ensure all plans develop do not infringe on any plant H&S restrictions

Desired profile

Key skills and experience in this role will include:

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Experience of developing logical solutions
Data manipulation & database building
Project Management - using DHL DePICT
AutoCAD skills - intermediate
JLR MPL System Knowledge - Advanced
Key performance indicator development
Project workload planning & organisation
Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques
Understanding of MS Access and VB coding
2-3 years logistics industry experience
DHL DMAIC/DePICT understanding/experience
Automotive business process knowledge
Educated to high school (secondary) standard
Educated to A level or equivalent qualification
Educated to university degree level or equivalent professional
