What are you accountable for achieving as an Assistant Finance Manager?
We are offering one exceptional candidate the chance to be an Assistant Finance Manager where the primary purpose of the role will be to ensure the efficient running of the finance function at the Livingston Site, and to support the Commercial Controller. Providing support in financial and operations management by ensuring DHL and Customer reporting requirements are met and exceeded. The role holder will work closely with the Heads of department, suppliers etc. to ensure that robust revenue & cost control exists and that invoicing/payment schedules are strictly adhered to.
Lead, develop and motivate site Finance team
Prepare & maintain the financial accounts in the computerised accounting system & provide reports for internal & external use
Support the site GM on all financial and control activities
Deliver accurate and detailed cost schedules to support management accounts, with reconciliation to weekly 'Quicks'
Attend site review meetings to support the operational team
Deliver accurate, complete and timely charging analysis to the customer as well as customer query resolution
Identify opportunities for improvements and develop effective solutions
Work in collaboration with other DHL sites to maximise efficiencies and best practice
Help install and maintain a team ethic that drives efficiency, through attention to detail, delivering the required stringent financial targets
Help build a strong and efficient team. Clearly identifying and develop the potential of all team members
Prepare budgets, management accounts forecasting and other ad-hoc project work
Produce weekly / daily cost and KPI reports for both the customer and internal operational management
Ensure adequate controls and processes are in place
Ensure period end accounts are accurate and complete and have accurate variance analysis detailing any issues & opportunities
What will you need as a successful Assistant Finance Manager?
Essential:
Part Qualified Accountant
Excellent computer skills
First Class Excel skills
Purchase ledger, accounting and payroll experience
Ability to motivate, develop and communicate at all levels
Good analytical, numerical & problem solving skills
Desirable:
Working knowledge of Financial & Inland Revenue regulations
Knowledge of current payroll legislation
Previous AFM role Exposure
