An apprenticeship at DHL Aviation (UK) Ltd will allow you to gain valuable work experience with the world's leading postal and logistics Group, Deutsche Post DHL. As an Apprentice at DHL Aviation (UK) Ltd, in addition to the transferable skills you will gain through
hands on work experience, you will also study towards one of the following qualifications:
Advanced Apprenticeship Business Admin, Level, duration 18 Months.
Customer Service, Level 2, duration 12 Months.
Mechanical Maintenance (Yr3 Specialise), Level 2/3, duration 36 Months.
HGV Maintenance & Repair, Level 2, duration 24 Months.
Advanced Apprenticeship Electrical Installation, Level 3, duration 24 Months.
Edexcel BTEC Diploma in ITC Systems & Principles, Level 3, duration 24 Months
Logistics Operations, Level 2, duration 12 Months.
Your apprenticeship will expose you to several departments within our business; however you will be primarily based in one of the following departments:
Customs:
The customs department ensures customs clearance for all shipments coming in and out of the UK. This involves liaising with both our customers and governing bodies including HMRC and FERA to ensure we provide excellent service quality and remain compliant at all times.
Facilities:
The EMA Facilities Department are responsible for everything you can imagine within our building! From assembling office furniture, to ensuring the building is well lit and air conditioned, through to parking, maintaining the buildings equipment and machinery to landscaping, and risk assessments. It's a varied department!
IT:
The IT department is responsible for ensuring our employees can do their jobs with the right IT equipment. From telephones, to laptops, printers, blackberry's and even hand held scanners. They solve problems and support our business to ensure we can serve our customers!
Operations:
Operations are at the heart of everything we do. They ensure that the parcels delivered to the Hub reach their end destination. Within Operations,you will gain hands on knowledge and exposure to logistics operations.
Learning & Development:
Learning & Development manage the training delivery and recording for Safety, Legal and Regulatory training requirements for all employees of DHL Aviation (UK) Ltd, agency workers and contractors enabling them to access the regulated areas of our warehouse. The areas managed by the L&D department cover all four sites within DHL Aviation UK, East Midlands Airport, London Heathrow, Luton & London Colney.
