Lufthansa Passage offers students (m/f) the chance to experience a dynamic working environment with an internship in our Regional Sales & Public Affairs office in Washington. We are looking for motivated and proactive students (m/f) to use their knowledge to work with our team.
All interns are fully integrated into the team, working on their own projects as well as supporting the daily business. Because of the expected level of integration into the team working environment the minimum internship duration is 6 months.
As part of the local team, your tasks may include the following:
· Conducting research and analysis on state and federal policies
· Developing and drafting presentations and briefings on key policy issues including safety, security, airline industry, environment and consumer-related issues
· Attending United States government hearings and preparing summaries to included assessment and impact of public policies
· Monitoring federal and state Administration and Congressional activity with emphasis on the Airline Industry
· Managing databases and supporting administrative duties
· Coordinating details for national public affairs campaign and regional/local community outreach
· Supporting Lufthansa Group Executive visits to Washington
· Other tasks as assigned
Desired profile
Your profile
· Advanced student (m/f) in Business or Public Administration or related subjects with strong academic performance (preferred majors: Public Affairs, Political Science, Communications)
· Enrolled during the entire period of the internship or internship between the Bachelor and Master program (Gap Year)
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Interest in Government and Aeropolitical topics
· Team-oriented, motivated, energetic personality , commitment to customer service
· Previous practical experiences (minimum 1 qualified internship or apprenticeship)
· Ability to work independently and under pressure with a high degree of accuracy and organization
· Very good administrative skills; ability to handle different projects simultaneously
· Advanced knowledge of MS Office
· Fluency in English and German, other foreign languages of advantage
· International experience preferred, but not required
