Policy & Government Relations ‑ Legislative Intern
We are looking for enthusiastic interns who are eager to learn about how a professional services firm engages in the legislative process. You will enhance your understanding of the environments in which Deloitte operates (both on the regulated and on the advisory side). As an intern, you will work with diverse groups of professionals, gain first-hand exposure to the tools, processes, and services we provide to clients, and learn how we engage with policymakers, lawmakers, third-party advocates, and coalitions.
Work You’ll Do
As an intern, you will work as part of the Policy & Government Relations group, with a focus on issues shaping and affecting the professional services industry today and in the future. You will assist in executing Deloitte’s legislative strategy by cultivating and tracking relationships, researching issues, and monitoring the legislative agenda. You will develop written products, such as research on legislative and regulatory issues, policy briefs, reports on congressional hearings and trade association meetings, tracking reports on media coverage of the professional services industry. You will also have the opportunity to attend congressional hearings and assist with events hosted by the Policy & Government Relations team.

Qualifications
• Candidate for a bachelor’s or master’s degree in political science, public policy/administration or a similar, relevant field of study
• Strong academic track record (minimum 3.4 GPA)
• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
• Experience working with Power Point
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced environment
• Action-oriented and ability to manage and meet deadlines
• Familiarity with social media tools
• Strong understanding of political and/or policy environment and/or past experience working on Capitol Hill or in another government affairs-related role a plus
