Job Description

Do you have your finger on the pulse of the vast and ever-changing capital markets environment? Have a passion for current trends in accounting and finance? As an Accounting & Finance intern at Deloitte, you’ll be part of a national team that delivers a wide range of services to our clients with a comprehensive industry-focused approach. You will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside leading accounting and finance leaders in addressing the strategic accounting and finance opportunities and challenges facing their businesses and the finance function. Additionally, you’ll be involved in helping advise multi-national Fortune 500 companies on responding to non-routine complex transactions, as well as providing tailored technology solutions to enable the delivery of our services to drive end-to-end solutions for our clients.

Work You’ll Do
You will have the opportunity to work on project opportunities across Advisory market offerings. You’ll leverage advanced, technology-enabled solutions to help our clients more confidently make decisions to drive performance. Whether you are assisting our clients as they operationalize accounting processes and controls; performing data analysis related to asset valuation and financial reporting requirements; or performing due diligence services and preparing financial modeling related to a merger, divestiture, reorganization and/or securitization transaction; you will help our clients leverage their data assets to better manage their risks, drive business value, and achieve financial reporting compliance.

How You’ll Grow
Throughout the course of the internship program, you will receive formal and informal mentorship and training. You will have access to learning opportunities to help foster and accelerate your development of new skills and capabilities. Beyond the formal training, you will work with talented professionals and have the chance to ask questions and gain valuable hands-on experience while working on client engagements. Interns will also be invited to participate in an Advisory Internship Conference hosted during the summer at Deloitte University.

Qualifications

·  Enrollment in a Bachelors or Master’s degree in preferred majors including: Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Financial Engineering, Quantitative Finance, or Math
·  Strong academic track record (minimum GPA of 3.2 preferred)
·  Relevant work experience (e.g., internships, summer positions, school jobs)
·  Demonstrated leadership and strong verbal and written communication skills
·  Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
·  Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity
·  Ability to work independently and as part of team with professionals at all levels
·  Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
·  Willingness to travel
