Job description
This position is within the Serviceability Engineering team, focusing on driving innovation and Serviceability capabilities into the Powermax and Mid-Range product lines, enabling a best in class experience for our customers with their Dell EMC products. A successful candidate will bring a strong technical background focusing on networking and connectivity related projects. The candidate will also bring capabilities to understand technical concepts, ability to communicate effectively with management / Engineering counterparts, a good business acumen and judgement and the ability to work within a visible, fast moving environment to rapidly deliver results that have broad business impact. The goal of serviceability is to make Dell EMC products the industry leader in easiest to own, at the lowest cost, consistent across the portfolio.
Serviceability Engineering and Technical Program Management Analyst
Hopkinton, MA
Key Responsibilities:
· Forward thinking on competitive x-ability improvements by defining future requirements for Dell EMC Primary Storage products including Powermax and Unity.
· Perform Serviceability validation testing (SVT) and documentation review.
· Take part in technical interlock with the Engineering and Product Group to provide technical expertise and thought leadership on serviceability features, product development, functional specs, bug reviews, and feedback to/from Engineering & Services
· Ensuring Product Serviceability is easy & efficient for both internal and external customers
Essential Requirements:
· 0+ years of related experience; or equivalent experience
· Ability to quickly learn new technology and products and work independently
· Basic Product Management skills
· Basic Program Management skills
· Basic programming or scripting knowledge such as one of shell or C++ or Python, Perl etc..
· Linux, Windows or Unix Basic System Administration
· IP or Fibre Channel Networking protocols experience or knowledge
· THOUGHT LEADERSHIP AND ENGINEERING INNOVATION TO OPTIMIZE THE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
Desirable Requirements:
· Working knowledge of Storage Area Networks (SAN) and troubleshooting experience
· Understanding of Computing and Storage Virtualization
· IT infrastructure, cloud architecture and industry knowledge
