This job will be performed on site at the Customer location in Phoenix, Arizona
Role Responsibilities
-Responsible for acting as trusted security advisor to the customer
-Participate in project efforts where firewall requirements are needed
-Responsible for understanding customer’s culture, security strategies, security goals, security objectives, and security capabilities. Responsible for integrating that understanding into daily work related to customer's services
-Reviews, prioritizes, and recommends information security improvements as they relate to the achievement of the customer’s business goals and objectives.
-Responsible for evolving and improving security posture of the customer’s connectivity strategy including the internet, business partners, remote offices, and remote employees.
-Maintain knowledge of outstanding development issues and communicate development roadmap to the customer as appropriate.
-Apply and maintain firewall hardware and firewall rule-sets
-Participate in change management processes for firewall changes
-Assist in troubleshooting network connectivity problems
-Detect and identify vulnerabilities in systems, network devices, etc.
-Maintain knowledge of current security trends and be able to clearly communicate them to customer
-Work with customer to assist with technical security escalations
-Keep customer abreast of problem status, set clear expectations, provide timely follow-up to customer, and independently handle challenging customer situations on a daily basis
-Assist in preparing and updating documentation, including installation guides, user guides, DR plans, Visio maps, configure backups, etc.
-Implement and maintain firewall and load balancing technology
-Install firewall IOS and firmware patches
-Prepare DR mechanisms and conduct failover testing
-Support project managers and team leaders in accomplishing customer goals
-Work effectively across functional teams, at SecureWorks and with Customer
-Various other duties as needed by customer
As a managed security provider, Dell SecureWorks expects its employees to understand and apply commonly known security practices and possess a working knowledge of applicable industry controls such as NIST 800-53. Employees will be expected to acknowledge their security responsibilities in writing prior to gaining access to company systems. Employees will be required to maintain a working knowledge of local security policies and execute general controls as assigned.
Requirements
· Minimum of 3 years of Cisco ASA Firewall Administration experience
· Minimum of 1 years of Palo Alto Firewall Administration
Preferences
· Experience in Unix/Linux OS strongly preferred
· F5 application delivery experience
· Experience with coding (e.g. Perl, Python, Ruby, etc.) is preferred
· Working knowledge/experience of network systems, security principles and applications, packet sniffing technologies, etc.
· Attention to importance of arriving to/from work on time, time management and being available during off hours for on call, project needs, or planned changes.
· Self-starter; ability to motivate others; assist and mentor junior team members
